May COVID-19 Update: Hours of Operation
May COVID-19 Update: Hours of Operation
To all of our friends, supporters, and customers new and old – THANK YOU! We’ve been overwhelmed with support (and repairs) over the last few weeks and just about everyone has been understanding our of policies and service lead times. We are thrilled every day to know that so many of you are safely outside, enjoying the weather and your bikes.
For those of you that are patiently waiting on us to repair your bike or build you new bike, effective immediately, we are making some temporary changes to help us speed up production.
Temporary Hours of Operation
Monday: Appointment Only
Tuesday-Friday: 11:00am-6:00pm
Saturday: 11:00am-5:00pm
Sunday: Closed
*Our Bicycle Service Center & Vending Machine is open 24/7 Downtown Macon @ 338 Poplar Street
A lot of thought and discussion has been put into changing our hours – we hope you understand that having a day with no interruptions will help us get customers’ bikes back much faster. If you show up unannounced on a Monday and we turn you away, please understand why. We will accept repair drop offs, scheduled repair pick ups and parts pickups. We will likely ask you to wait outside while we get what you need.
We are also continuing to keep limited foot traffic in the shop and have temporarily reduced the number of people allowed inside at a time from ten (10) to five (5). All of this is posted on the front door.
Please continue communicating with us in the easiest format for you. We’re doing our best to keep up with emails, Facebook messages, Instagram messages and the phones. Soon, you’ll be able to leave us a voicemail at the shop. If you would like to schedule an appointment to have your bike services (which we HIGHLY recommend), please fill out this form.
If you need us to order parts for you and have them shipped directly to your home, let us know. As always, you can shop online with Giant, Jamis and Specialized and support Bike Tech in the process.
Finally, you may have noticed an inventory shortage if shopping for a new bike, helmet, or other accessory. The increase demand on bikes has been nothing but amazing, but the industry was not prepared and many are still working with reduced teams. Most of our suppliers are experiencing a delay in shipping, which at the end of the day, puts the delay in your lap. We are doing everything we can, including weekly parts orders, to help you stay on the trail!
As a reminder — if you are sick, if you feel sick, if you are just getting over a sickness, or if you’ve been around someone who is sick, please wait to visit our store (or any establishment for that matter, unless it’s the Hospital) until you are 100% clear and healthy. If you’re not sure, please consult with your doctor. We MUST continue to be as cautious and respectful to one another as possible.
WASH YOUR HANDS, KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF YOUR FACE, SNEEZE INTO A TISSUE, HANDKERCHIEF OR THE INSIDE OF YOUR ELBOW, AND DISINFECT FREQUENTLY AND OFTEN! We must be diligent in helping slow the spread of the coronavirus.
It is our core belief that the bicycle is one of the greatest forms of recreation, transportation and exercise available to the human race and we need all these things more than ever!
Thank you again for your support. We’re trying to proceed in the safest, most responsible manner. We greatly appreciate you and everyone else doing the same.
Remember, biking is the original form of social distancing!
All the best,
Bobby and the Bike Tech Team
