COVID-19 Update

COVID-19 Update

[BT] logo

We’re a few weeks in and we are all still adjusting. If I may be so bold, one silver lining is the increased interest in people riding bikes, walking, jogging, running and generally just being outside. This is outstanding and while we are ready to be in the clear from COVID-19, we hope you and your neighbors continue to realize that outside (in general) is pretty awesome.

As I write this, we are still operating under a 10 person maximum occupancy in the building, which includes our team. If we’re at capacity, we ask that you wait outside the building. We’ve temporarily closed the “bike room” at the shop so we can retain a clean space for us to keep repairs, special orders and the like. Please stay tuned, if we can’t keep up, we’ll implement a reduced capacity. We hope you understand.

A couple of reminders:

  1. You are welcome to phone-in orders and we’ll meet you outside when the order or bike is ready for pick-up.
  2. We have a form on our website to help you schedule your service – https://biketechmacon.com/service-request/
  3. You can also contact us on Facebook, Instagram and over email and we’ll help with your questions and/or needs
  4. We encourage you to shop online with Giant, Liv, Momentum, Jamis or Specialized for your new bike and/or accessories. Want a Surly, All-City or something else cool and/or custom? Let us know. Bikes will ship to the shop and we’ll build, tune and test ride before delivery. Many of the parts, accessories, apparel and footwear on these sites will ship directly to your home. Online sales from these sites will help support us and our team.
*Jamis has a limited selection available for purchase online. Want something specific from the Jamis catalog? Call or email and we’ll be glad to order for you!

As a reminder — if you are sick, if you feel sick, if you are just getting over a sickness, or if you’ve been around someone who is sick, show some respect and wait to visit our store (or any establishment for that matter, unless it’s the Hospital) until you are 100% clear and healthy. If you’re not sure, please consult with your doctor. We MUST continue to be as cautious and respectful to one another as possible.

One more reminder, WASH YOUR HANDS, KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF YOUR FACE, SNEEZE INTO A TISSUE, HANDKERCHIEF OR THE INSIDE OF YOUR ELBOW, AND DISINFECT FREQUENTLY AND OFTEN! We must be diligent in helping slow the spread of the coronavirus.

It is our core belief that the bicycle is one of the greatest forms of recreation, transportation and exercise available to the human race and we need all these things more than ever!

The bottom line is your health and safety, along with ours, is of the utmost importance, so we are going to continue to do what we can to service our beloved cycling community here in Macon.

Thank you again for your support. We’re trying to proceed in the safest, most responsible manner. We greatly appreciate you and everyone else doing the same.

Remember, biking is the original form of social distancing!

All the best,
Bobby and the Bike Tech Team
