Bike Tech opened in 1982 as a small, full-service shop on Vineville Avenue, helping Macon ride better from day one. In 2021, we moved to 909 Second Street to be closer to the places Macon rides—like the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail—and to make it easier for customers to roll out right from the shop.
We’re still an independent, family-run business focused on expert service, thoughtful advice, and bikes that fit real riders—kids to commuters, weekend cruisers to gravel die-hards. Our downtown space is set up for ride-ins and quick help, from flats and tune-ups to full overhauls.
Bike Tech has always been part of Macon’s riding community—helping new riders get started, keeping seasoned riders ready to go, and supporting groups that make our city more bike-friendly. Stop by and you’ll likely see familiar faces who have been part of the shop for years.
Bike Tech Youth Trade-In Program
Kids grow fast—thankfully, their bikes can grow with them. When you purchase a youth bike from Bike Tech, you can bring it back once your child has outgrown it and trade it in for up to 50% of your original purchase price toward their next size.
It’s our way of keeping them on the right-sized ride while saving you money. Plus, their old bike gets a second life with another young rider.
