Club Rides/Maps

The new “Macon Chain Gang” was formed in early 2009 by a group of devoted riders that wanted to have a club that could be both structured and casual. The concept behind this idea was that most people that ride would like to belong to something that would have very few obligations but bring lots of rider fellowship. We currently have over 100 signed members with most sporting the “Chain Gang” kit all over middle Georgia. The club consists of new riders as
well as experienced riders. There will be social events throughout the year with of course lots of rides.

From March to late October there is the “group ride” on every Tuesday and Thursday starting at 6pm from the Prespatarion Church on the corner of Bass Rd and Rivoli Dr. We also do Saturday rides starting at the same location @ 9am during the winter months and 8am during the summer months. The Saturday rides are “no drop” rides.

Ongoing rides…

There is small group of riders that leave from the Juliette fire station @ 6:15pm on Tuesday and Thursday. This is a night ride that follows the gravel roads through the Piedmont Wildlife Refuge. Contact Bike Tech for directions and details.

The “Peach Peloton” is riding during the winter months on Saturdays and is a long road ride for the fit and experienced riders. These rides can be in excess of 100miles and average 18-20 miles per hour. They switch ride locations from north to south Macon and you need to contact the shop or their web site to find out when they are leaving.

The “Bass Pro Shop” ride is a road ride that circles the loop at Bass Pro Shop. They start at 6pm on Tuesday and Thursday and do laps around the loop of about 1.3 miles that makes up the drive to the shop. They typically average over 20miles per hour and ride for an hour or two. This ride is done throughout the winter months and does require some minimal lighting.
